  • A singular and divine Vase

Decorate your home with this carved vase in the shape of the face of Michelangelo's David.

    The artwork

The David is arguably the most famous sculpture of the Renaissance. Made by Michelangelo between 1501 and 1504, it shows an admirable work of the material as well as a fine knowledge of the human body.

Michelangelo does not content himself here with copying the greatest sculptors of Antiquity or his predecessors such as Donatello. He appropriates it and gives it the calm strength of a hero who places his destiny in the hands of God. The master chooses to represent him shortly before his fight against Goliath. A certain intensity emerges from his gaze, the muscles are swollen, the veins protruding. The David is not only a magnification of the virile nude, it is also the exaltation of the civic virtues of the Florentine Renaissance.

The original is now on display in the Galleria dell'Academia in Florence.

You can use it as a vase or as a pencil holder.
